Tempered Glass
Tempering glass is a technologically advanced process that enhances the safety and strength of the glass.
The tempering process consists of 3 stages:
- Heating the glass above 600 degrees (depending on the thickness of the glass)
- Rapid cooling of the previously heated glass
- Controlling surface compression.
Advantages of Tempered Glass:
- Increased resistance of the glass
- Safety
- Durability
- Minimal risk of cutting
- In the event of breakage, it shatters into small pieces.
Properties of Tempered Glass:
- Strength 4-5 times higher than ordinary glass
- Safety
- Resistance to temperature
- Abrasion-resistant.
Below are laminated doors with 3 layers of glass, where the middle layer represents shattered tempered glass.
Applications of tempered glass:
- Balustrades
- Shower Cabins
- Glass doors
- Graphics on glass
- Furniture
- Interior decoration.
Mirrors are not subjected to tempering, except for the Venetian Mirror.
